A two-level design positioned on a restricted rectangular envelope, the Giraffe Early Learning Centre was an exercise in bringing nature into an urban environment. Extensive use of timber flooring gives a sense of space to narrow classrooms, while tonal decking enables the seamless connection of internal and external areas. The large glass frontage offers a modern interpretation of a pre-school fence and connects the children with the surrounding neighbourhood.
