Cohaus is a heritage site in Grey Lynn and experimental communal co-living development. As a heritage listing, we were required to retain the heritage villa and relocate it to another part of the site. Two new blocks were built: one in brick to align with the original villa, and a new courtyard building featuring Abodo cladding. The project was focused on the building’s performance, incorporating aluminium joinery and extensive mid-floor and wall insulation to ensure warmth and weather-tightness throughout the seasons.
